What do you need to do - and when?

    Register as Unemployed

You must register as unemployed on jobnet.dk on your first day without a job. Then, you need to complete and submit an unemployment declaration to your unemployment insurance fund (A-kasse). You can find the declaration on your fund’s website. Once you have registered as unemployed, your unemployment insurance fund (A-kasse) will contact you.

For your first meeting with the Job Centre, you need to book it yourself digitally via Jobnet.dk. You have the option to book an in-person meeting, an online meeting or a telephone meeting . See here how to book meetings and use the calendar and My Plan on Jobnet

    Job search

The goal is for you to find a job as quickly as possible. Therefore, you must search for jobs throughout the entire period you are registered as unemployed. This also applies during periods when you are attending courses or participating in activation programs.

When you are unemployed and receiving benefits, you are required to search for jobs. If you do not actively looking for jobs, it may affect your benefits. You must register your job search every week in the job log on Jobnet.dk. See the job log guide here.

    Create your CV

Within the first 2 weeks, you must create a CV on Jobnet.dk, which your unemployment insurance fund must approve. See the guide on creating a CV here.

Notify us on Jobnet.dk if you become ill

If you become ill while you are unemployed, you must report your illness on Jobnet.dk. It may affect your benefits if, for example, you miss an interview.

If you are doing a company internship or a job with a wage subsidy in a company, you must report your illness to both your employer and on Jobnet.dk.

Notify us on Jobnet.dk if you want to take a vacation

While unemployed, you must always report your vacation via Jobnet.dk. If there are less than 14 days until your vacation, you must inform the Job Centre. It may affect the payment of your benefits if you do not report your vacation or inform the Job Centre.

If the Job Centre has called you for meetings or an activity, you are required to attend.
When you take a vacation, you must either use your own accumulated vacation days or apply for holiday allowance. You apply for holiday benefits through your unemployment insurance fund.
